Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges over what remains of the rift valley wall, creating the 45m Murchison Falls.The park was named after President of the Royal Geographical Society Sir Roderick Murchison by Samuel Baker in the 1860s. Our representative will pick you up from the hotel and proceed to Murchison Falls National Park.
Alternatively, fly on a scheduled (daily) flight to Chobe or Bugungu Airstrip. (1hr) upon arrival, you’ll be met by our representative and driven to the Lodge.
Note: We can include Ziwa Rhino Santuary on the itinerary today for a guided walk to view the rhinos walk followed by a lunch. Continue up to the Park, check in to your accommodation of choice.

Embark on a morning game drive in search of herds of buffaloes and elephants, Rothschild Giraffes, leopards, lions, Jackson’s hartebeest, bushbucks, Uganda kob, waterbucks, warthogs and other wildlife. After lunch, embark on a launch trip to the base of the Falls. Cruise past huge hippo pods, crocodiles, bathing buffalo and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfall. The list includes the Shoebill Stork, the Goliath Heron – the largest heron in the world – and pairs of elegant Grey Crowned Cranes – Uganda’s national bird. Also seen along the banks of the Nile are the Blue-headed Coucal, Swamp Flycatcher, Squacco Heron, African Jacana, Sandpipers, Denham’s Bustard, Abyssinian Ground-Hornbill, Black-billed Barbet, Black-headed Gonolek, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, We then hike to the top of the falls and return back to lodge.
